"We urge the J-K government to constitute its own Lokayukta to put a check on uncontrolled corruption in the state," All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference president Anil Sharma told reporters here.
"We offer gratitude to the Members of Parliament and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare for bringing this anti-graft law which was pending for the past more than four decades," the leader of the organisation of elected Panches and Sarpanches of J-K said.
He said Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas at the state-level would help to contain corruption.
"We support and appreciate the demand of Rahul Gandhi for extending the session of the House for clearing the Whistleblowers' Protection Bill, Judicial Accountability Bill, Public Procurement Bill and the Citizen's Right to Services Bill," he said.
