Addressing a joint press conference with the two allies, Union Petroleum Minister and BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan said the BJP would contest the assembly polls under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked voters to ensure that it secures a majority in the five-phase elections beginning on November 25.
AJSU party and LJP would remain as NDA partners post-poll as in the Centre now, the BJP leader said.
Mahto said for the first time since the creation of Jharkhand his party was fighting as NDA in elections adding that his party desired for welfare and development in the state.
LJP's state unit president Babban Gupta said, "We support NDA policies and our party workers will work for the NDA during the elections."
Of the total 81 assembly seats in the state, the BJP has allotted eight seats to Ajsu party and one to LJP.
