They have been chosen for their overall contribution to the growth and development of Malayalam language and literature, Akademi President Perumbadavam Sreedharan told reporters here today.
The fellowships carry a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a 16-gram gold pendant, a plaque and a testimonial each.
Noted litterateurs K M Govy, K P Sankaran, Karoor Shasi and G Priyadarshan have also been selected for the Akademi's 'Puraskars' which carry Rs 30,000, testimonial and a plaque each, Sreedharan said.
