Akal Takhat declares Gurdwara Chhota Ghallughara trust chief

Gurdwara Chhota Ghallughara Trust chief Johar Singh has been declared 'Tankhaiya' (guilty of religious misconduct) during a meet of five Sikh head priests under Jathedar Akal Takhat Gyani Gurbachan Singh today.
The meet of five Sikh head priests was held here at the secretariat of Akal Takhat, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs.
The meeting unanimously resolved to declare Johar Singh as 'Tankhaiya', since he failed to turn up before the five Sikh head priests despite multiple notices, said Gyani Gurbachan Singh.
After declaring him 'Tankhaiya', Akal Takaht asked the Sikh community for social boycott of Johar Singh unless he appeared before the Sikh high priests for atonement.
A senior functionary of the Chhota GhallugharaTrust was caught with a woman in "objectionable position" at the gurdwara on August 11.
Johar Singh, being head of the Trust, was summoned at the Takhat to explain why he had not initiated action against his colleague.

However, Johar Singh told the media yesterday that he never considered GyaniGurbachan Singh as Jathedar Akal Takaht as he was removed by the 'Sarbat Khalsa' which appointed Gyani Dhian Singh Mand as Jathedar Akal Takhat.
Yesterday Johar Singh had appeared before the parallel Jathedars appointed by Sarbat Khalsa.
The situation became tense yesterday when Johar Singh was dragged out of Akal Takhat from the Golden Temple complex by the SGPC task force which was irritated since he appeared before the parallel jathedars appointed by hardliners earlier.
The Akal Takhat today excommunicated Buta Singh from Sikh fold since he was caught red handed with a woman in an objectionable position at the gurdwara on the night of August 11.
Gyani Gurbachan Singh asked the Sikh community for social bycott of Buta Singh who extended "severe damage" to the image of Sikhs.
