Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today regretted "missing" opportunity of contesting Lok Sabha polls.
"Kab Lok Sabha ja payengey pata nahi. Ye mauka to chook gaya (I don't know when I will reach Lok Sabha. I have missed the opportunity this time)," Yadav told reporters here.
He was talking to media at a function where BSP MP Surendra Nagar joined the ruling Samajwadi Party along with his supporters.
"They started with Gujarat development model but they started following communal agenda," he said.
Asked whether SP would make an appeal to other parties to unitedly contest against Narendra Modi in Varanasi, Yadav said his party was not making any such appeal as it has fieled its own candidate there.
"We are a secular party and except for two seats (Raebareli and Amethi), we have announced candidates on all seats," Yadav said.
