UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's convoy came under attack today allegedly by supporters of Secunderabad MP who smashed the window panes of one of the vehicles.
A vehicle, which was following Akhilesh's car was stopped by a group of people who broke the glass panes protesting against their leader, Congress MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, not being allowed to get into one of the vehicles behind Akhilesh's car. No one was injured.
The incident happened at the portico of Park Hyatt Hotel in Jubilee Hills when Akhliesh was leaving for a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy.
Police has booked a case of 'wrongful restraint' (of a vehicle) and 'assault on a public servant' following the incident against four persons.
During his two-day visit to the city, Akhilesh addressed the national executive of All India Yadav Mahasabha. And met a cross section of leaders across the political spectrum.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that on the basis of his government's performance in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party would do well in the next Lok Sabha elections.
"Samajwadi Party is an ideology-based party. The party has a strong organisation structure. The party has done good work after coming to power. I feel the performance of the government will be the basis to show our strength in the next Lok Sabha elections," he told reporters here.
Akhilesh met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and drove to the residence of Union Tourism Minister K. Chiranjeevi. During his stay, he also interacted with Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
