Yadav, who became the Chief Minister of UP in March, was recently elected unopposed to the state Legislative Council.
Yadav, who had represented Kannauj constituency in Lok Sabha, today came to Parliament House to tender his resignation, sources said.
The letter is now with Speaker Meira Kumar and a notification accepting the resignation would be issued after processing the document.
After Yadav's resignation is accepted, SP's strength in the lower house will come down to 21, the same as that of BSP. PTI NAB
