'Aladdin' directors confirm major fan theory related to Genie

In a surprising revelation, two decades after the release of "Aladdin", its directors John Musker and Ron Clements have confirmed the fan theory that peddler and Genie were same.
The fans of the film speculated that peddler, who appears at the beginning of the film, was actually Genie in disguise.
The fans pointed out that like Genie, the peddler only had four fingers per hand and late actor Robin Williams voiced both characters, reported The Huffington Post.
"I saw something that speculates that the peddler at the beginning of 'Aladdin' is the Genie. That's true!," Clements said.
The makers were initially planning to reveal the secret at the end of the film but after the film went on to editing table they lost the said portion.

"Through story changes and some editing the reveal was lost. So, that's an urban legend that actually is true," he added.
