"Alagiri is an important person and an Indian citizen and a voter and he has the strength. So, we are asking him, we are asking everybody," BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, who is in-charge of party affairs in Tamil Nadu affairs, told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on whether BJP was seeking support from Alagiri for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"Each and every person count in making this campaign stronger and stronger... BJP gaining support from new person and new quarter it is a gain, it is always a gain," he said, while recalling Alagiri's support to make Narendra Modi as a Prime Minister.
Alagiri, the disgruntled son of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi, had reached out to BJP with an offer of support in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Alagiri, who was suspended from his party recently, met BJP President Rajnath Singh during his visit to Delhi last week.
