The notification for the by-poll would be issued on January 30 and the last date for filing of nomination papers is February 6.
Scrutiny of nomination papers would take place on February 7 while the last day for withdrawal of candidature is February 9, the release said.
Voting will take place on February 24 between 8 am and 5 pm. The counting of votes would be taken up on February 28.
The by-election has been necessitated due to the death of Asom Gana Parishad MLA Shahidul Alam Choudhury in December.
