Alec Baldwin is not returning to Twitter following the controversy surrounding his angry outburst against a journalist.
The actor is also keen to quit acting for a quieter life.
Baldwin said he decided to take a cue from the late James Gandolfini to stay away from Twitter, Vanity Fair reported.
When asked whether he will tweet again, Baldwin replied, "Never. No."
"I went to Jimmy Gandolfini's funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn't have Twitter," Baldwin said.
The scandal started from Gandolfini's funeral. A British journalist reported that Hilaria Baldwin was tweeting about anniversary gifts while attending Gandolfini's funeral service at Manhattan's Cathedral Church of St John the Divine.
An angry Baldwin rushed to Hilaria's defense by slamming the reporter on Twitter and calling him a "toxic little queen" before deleting his Twitter account. The actor later issued an apology to GLAAD.

Baldwin, who is all set to welcome a baby daughter with Hilaria, says he no longer wants to waste his time.
"I really learned a lesson at the funeral. I said to myself, This is all a waste of time. Meaning it's fun sometimes, but less and less, and less. It's just another chink in your armor for people to come and kill you. I stopped and said to myself, I'm going to try where I just don't do this anymore."
Baldwin revealed that he has been thinking about retiring.
"I'd love to (quit acting) if I could, yes. That would be the greatest thing in the world... I would love to. If I could find something else to do.
