Alert bank watchman prevents robbery

: An alert bank watchman prevented a robbery bid at a co-operative bank at Kottampatti, about 40 km from here after the three burglars took to their heels on seeing him approaching them, police said.
They said the watchman went to the rear side of the bank building on hearing a noise from there and found the trio drilling a hole on the walls. Seeing him, they fled the spot, police said leaving the wall half damaged.
Later, the police was informed of the attempted theft.
