Tristar Pictures has landed the rights to Alex Garland's "The Toymaker's Secret".

The 47-year-old director has penned the script of the film, but will not be helming it, reported Variety.

Garlands has films such as "Annihilation" and "Ex Machina" to his directing credit. He has also written screenplays for movies "28 Days Later", "Sunshine", and "Never Let Me Go".

Garland's wife Paloma Baeza, best known for the short film "The Window", has landed the directing duties from the studio.

The film is about an American family who moves into an old Victorian house in London and begins to believe it might be haunted.

The film will be produced by Garland, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, and Cara Speller.
