Actress and former Miss USA Ali Landry's father-in-law and brother-in-law were found dead in Veracruz, Mexico, 16 days after they were kidnapped from their home in nearby Tamaulipas.
Jose Manuel Gomez Fernandez and Juan Manuel Gomez Monteverde are the father and brother of Landry's husband, acclaimed director Alejandro Monteverde, reported People Magazine.
In a written statement on a Veracruz website, Prosecutor General of Justice for Veracruz, Luis Angel Bravo Contreras, said that Fernandez and Monteverde were found September 19 near Pueblo Viejo.
The two, who were identified by relatives, had sustained traumatic brain injuries and been dead for several days. Allegedly, a ransom had been paid after the kidnapping.
Fernandez and Monteverde were kidnapped on September 4 after leaving their home in Tampico, Tamaulipas, a dangerous area known for gang activity.
Landry, who was crowned Miss USA in 1996, rose to fame as the 'Doritos Girl' from her 1998 Super Bowl ad. Following a brief marriage to Mario Lopez which she annulled after two weeks in 2004, Landry married Monteverde in 2006.
They have three children, Estela Inez, 8, Marcelo Alejandro, 3, and Valentin Francesco, 2.
