Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap says Manoj Bajpayee starrer "Aligarh" should be watched by everyone including those who swing the baton of morality.
Directed by National-award winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, "Aligarh", is based on the real life story of professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was fired from his job because of his alleged sexual orientation.
"I think everyone should watch this film specially those who roam with a flag of morality in the country," Kashyap told reporters at the special screening of the film yesterday.
In the movie, Bajpayee is playing the role of Siras while actor Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of a journalist.
The "Bombay Velvet" director said he was "shaken" after watching the film and hailed Bajpayee's performance as his career's best.
"The film has been made really well. I think this is Manoj Bajpayee's best performance ever. I am still shaken... The level that Manoj Bajpayee has gone to with the film it's just... Both of them (Bajpayee and Rao) have performed really well."
"Aligarh" is scheduled to release this Friday.
