In a statement, Kamrup Metro district administration said all government and private schools and colleges will be closed tomorrow due to flooding of various areas in the city.
"The schools and colleges, which have examinations, will have to fix a new schedule for the same," it added.
The district administration has informed that heavy rainfall is expected in the city tomorrow.
Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner A Angamuthu said the district administration is fully equipped to deal with the situation created by unprecedented rainfall.

Besides rainfall in the city, the situation became worse in view of heavy downpour in bordering Meghalaya.
The district administration has already put in place six boats, 23 pumps and sufficient numbers of rickshaw at various inundated areas under the supervision of Magistrate, while designated NGOs are keeping strict vigil on the situation.
Already six teams of NDRF and equal number of SDRF teams are assisting the affected persons in the inundated areas to move to safer places.
The administration has provided drinking water to people in the areas, which are totally cut off from other places.
In case of necessity, two shelter camps have been kept ready at Sangameria dharamsala and Tarun Ram Phukan indoor hall of the Nehru stadium.
The assessment of loss of public goods has been initiated by the revenue office and civil defence authority is assisting the district administration in its efforts.
