All-faith prayer meeting for Kalam in Delhi

Religious heads of Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Sikh communities performed their prayers on one single platform

An all-faith prayer meeting was today organised in the national capital to pay tribute to former President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Religious heads of Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Sikh communities performed their prayers on one single platform.

"Dr Kalam was more of a spiritual person than a scientist. He will be remembered as the coordinator of the century between spirituality and science," Acharya Lokesh Muni, Jainacharya and Founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti said.

Goswami Sushil Ji Maharaj founder of Bhrigu Foundation said that Kalam was the President of the common people.

"He opened doors of the Rashtrapati Bhawan for the people and established dialogue with them," he said.

Maulana Kalbe Rusad Rizvi from Islam religion said that Kalam believed in religion of humanity, as he said that we are first humans and then a Hindu or Muslim.


All the dignitaries present in the prayer meeting were of the opinion that the nation must carry forward the vision and philosophy of brotherhood for overall development, integrity and harmony, espoused by Kalam.

The prayer meeting was organised by Ahimsa Viswa Bharti, Ahimsa Foundation, Vishwa Ahimsa Sangh, Rajasthan Mitra Parishad, Rajasthan Sanstha Sangh, Sahyog Delhi and Rachnatmak Manch.
