Besides, 13 athletic events, there will be seven and five different games in men and women categories respectively during the five-day meet, the host Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) vice-chancellor, Dr K Ramasamy, told reporters here today.
Stating that 85 athletes and players, including 37 women, will represent TNAU, which was runners up in the last meet held at Jorhat, in the meet, Ramasamy said that TNAU, which was runner four times, was talking all out efforts to be champions in this meet.
The event, sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, will have an expense of at least Rs 85 lakh, of which council is providing Rs 50 lakh, he said.
To promote sports in the constituent and affiliated colleges of TNAU, the varsity would select one college for each game, so that that colleges could concentrate on one sport and become number one in that category, Ramasamy said.
