"The tournament will start in the first week of October. India's top teams including I-League clubs Air India, Mumbai FC, United Sikkim, Royal Wangdoh, Titanium FC and Punjab Police would be competing in this inaugural edition," a spokesman of the J&K Bank said.
He said the tournament is expected to emerge as one of the top national level football competitions in the country in coming years.
Top 12 teams from Jammu and Kashmir, the host state, would be participating in the tournament, the spokesman said.
The tournament was scheduled to be held in August but due to All India Postal Football tournament, which is underway and School National Football tournament being played in the first week of September, the championship was postponed.
