"With help of high speed Internet services, people of Punjab will benefit from scores of government services sitting at home which will put an end to their making rounds of offices," Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said here.
He also claimed that Punjab would be the first state in the country to accomplish this feat.
He also flagged off a train from Malerkotla railway station to Ajmer.
Badal further said that the state government has also begun process of making 1.20 lakh new recruitments, thereby opening new job avenues for youth.
Sukhbir said the credit for this achievement goes to the district administration, citizens and various NGOs.
He said the state government has given a face-lift to Ludhiana through various development like improving sewerage system under HUDCO at a cost of Rs 150 crore, construction of roads alongside Budha Nullah at a cost of Rs 13 crore, upgradation of sewerage treatment plants at a cost of Rs 100 crore and constructing 4,832 dwelling units and operating 105 city buses.
