The team comprising 10 Women Air Warriors of the IAF and 10 women personnel from the BSF was expected to conclude the expedition on September 30, a release issued by IAF said.
"During the expedition, the team will interact with civilians with an aim to spread awareness about Swachh Bharat and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan," the release said.
The team will also spread awareness about the IAF, its role and career options available for youth (particularly girls), besides promoting adventure activities in the IAF to motivate Indian youth to join the force.
In a similar all-women expedition in 2011, the IAF for the first time hoisted the country's flag and the IAF flag on top of Mount Everest.
The team underwent training in Subsidiary Training Centre of BSF Jodhpur, the release said.
On the occasion, IAF Skydiving Team - 'Air Devils' - also carried out a skydiving display.
