Allahabad Bank's Patna main branch completes 100 years

Set up during the time of the First World War, Allahabad Bank main branch at Patna today celebrated 100 years of its journey and promised to serve customers with the same dedication.
As part of centenary celebration of the branch, a customer meet was organised to herald the bond between bank and its customers.
The meet was chaired by Kumidini Sinha, a customer of the branch for the last 25 years. Deputy General Manager of Allahabad Bank's main branch Jagannath Mishra while addressing the function promised customers that best services would continue to be provided to them in future as well.
Assistant General Manager Subhasis Bhattacharya delivered the vote of thanks.
Allahabad Bank main branch located at busy Bailey road was establised on July 1, 1914 when the world was witnessing the strife of First World War. It was opened by Alexander Smart, the then agent of Allahabad Bank Ltd Patna.
The building was built by Arthur Butler & Co of Bankipore which now stands as a heritage building.
During its long journey, the bank which started with a business of Rs 67,000 only today has an annual business of around Rs 950 crore, a Bank press statement said.
