Allcargo Logistics reported a 22 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 32.43 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The firm had clocked a net profit of Rs 26.56 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a regulatory filing.

Total standalone income of the company, however fell marginally to Rs 293.76 crore in January-March quarter of last fiscal from Rs 294.37 crore during the same quarter in 2014-15.

The firm's total expenses were higher at Rs 269.08 crore from Rs 257.33 crore during the quarter under review.

For the entire 2015-16, Allcargo Logistics' standalone net profit was at Rs 124.15 crore against Rs 97.49 crore in 2014-15.

Total standalone income was at Rs 1,205.26 crore from Rs 1,137.65 crore during the same period.

Allcargo Logistics, an integrated logistic solutions provider, has a network of 301 offices across 164 countries through its international subsidiaries.

In March, the firm had announced plans to set up a logistics park in Jhajjar district of Haryana, mainly to cater to the growing container traffic in the northern parts of the country.

It has in-principle approved setting up of logistics park in Haryana and the facility is expected to be operational by 2018, subject to necessary regulatory approvals and rail connectivity.
