Almond declines on subdued demand

Almond prices fell by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists at existing higher levels amid increased arrivals from overseas markets.
Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 17,400 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 595-625 per kg.
Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to subdued demand from retailers and stockists at existing higher levels against increased arrivals from overseas markets mainly pulled down almond prices on the dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 17,400 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,200-8,500; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,200-4,500; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 595-625 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 470-520 per kg.
