Almond prices up on reduced supply

Almond prices rose by Rs 200 per 40 kg in the national capital today on increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Traders said increased demand from bulk consumers and depreciating rupee which made imports costlier, mainly influenced almond prices.
Almond california rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 17,700 per 40 kg and its kernel prices traded higher at Rs 610-635 as compared with Rs 595-620 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 17,700 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,300-8,500; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,600-4,900; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 610-635 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
