Almond prices up on rising demand

Almond prices rose by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of rising demand from retailers and stockists driven by festive and ongoing wedding season amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Almond (California) prices were up by Rs 100 to Rs 23,300 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also higher by Rs 5 to Rs 795-820 per kg.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices at the dry fruit market.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 23,300, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,500-11,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 7,000-7,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 795-820 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 850-880 per kg.
