Almond prices rose by Rs 200 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Besides, rising demand from bulk consumers also supported the upside.
Almond california rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 18,100 per 40 kg and its kernel prices traded higher at Rs 620-650 as compared with Rs 610-640 per kg, respectively.
Market analysts said besides increased demand from retailers and stockists, restricted arrivals from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices on the dry fruit market here.
The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,100 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,200-8,500; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,200-4,500; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
