Almond california prices rose by Rs 200 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely influenced by fall in supplies from overseas markets against increased buying by retailers and stockists.
Almond california rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 19,400 and its kernel prices went up by Rs 5 to settle at Rs 680-690 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said fresh buying by retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices on the dry fruit market here.
In addition, depreciating rupee which weakened to 62.27 (intra-day) against the dollar that makes import costlier also supported the upside, they said.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 19,400, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,200-8,500; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,500-6,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 14,000-21,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 680-690 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 600-700 per kg.
