Almond up Rs 100 on fall in supplies

Almond prices rose Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Almond california prices were up by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 18,400 per 40 kg and its kernel traded higher at Rs 640-660 as compared with Rs 635-655 per kg, respectively.
Market analysts said increased demand from retailers and stockists against restricted arrivals from overseas markets pushed up almond prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,400 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,800-8,000; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,500-4,700; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 640-660 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
