Traders said buying activity in aluminium picked up as it traded at the highest level in five months in China after the world's second-largest economy showed signs of stabilising, bolstering the outlook for demand for metals.
Meanwhile, aluminum rose 1.3 per cent to 11,670 yuan (USD 1,789.71) a metric tonne, the highest intra-day level since October 12 on the Shanghai Futures Exchange. However, the London Metal Exchange is closed for a public holiday.
In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensil scrap enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 148, Rs 144, Rs 144 and Rs 142 per kg, respectively.
