At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in current month rose by 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 122.35 per kg in business turnover of 88 lots.
The metal for delivery in February contracts, however, held steady at Rs 122.40 per kg in 94 lots.
Analysts said that fresh positions created by participants due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market, mainly helped aluminium prices to trade higher at futures trade.
