At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in August went up by Rs 1.05, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 134.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 376 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September was trading higher by 95 paise, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 134.70 per kg in 77 lots.
Analysts said expanding of positions by participants, tracking a firm trend in base metals in global markets amid rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly kept aluminium prices higher at futures trade.
