Strong demand in the spot markets also influenced metal prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in February inched up by 45 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 104.50 per kg in business turnover of 251 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March traded higher by 25 paise, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 105.90 per kg in 48 lots.
Marketmen said apart from increased domestic demand, a firming trend in the base metals overseas supported the upside in aluminium prices at futures trade here.
