Aluminium futures up by 0.69% on global cues, spot demand

Amid firm trend overseas and pick up in demand at domestic spot market, aluminium prices were up by 0.69 per cent to Rs 109.45 per kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.
In futures trading At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in September month traded higher by 75 paise, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 109.45 per kg in business turnover of 2,500 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in October contracts was also edged up by 65 paise, or 0.59 per cent to Rs 110.05 per kg in 589 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants, driven by a firm global trend and uptick in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, led to rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, aluminium for delivery in three-month rose 0.5 per cent on the London Metal Exchange.
