Aluminium prices on Wednesday edged up 55 paise to Rs 134.55 per kg in futures market after speculators built up fresh positions amid positive trend in spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in November contracts edged higher by 55 paise, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 134.55 per kg in a business turnover of 417 lots.
The metal for December delivery gained 45 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 136.55 per kg in 46 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders after positive demand from consuming industries mainly led to rise in aluminium prices.
