The Vijayawada city will play host, for the first time, to a childrens film festival beginning tomorrow that will provide kids a peek into film- making.
The Amaravati Children's Film Festival-2017 will have a wide array of events, including screenings, film appreciation workshops, talks by eminent filmmakers and writers and workshops for parents and children, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner J Nivas said here today.
A team of technicians and filmmakers from the Film and Television Institute of India would help children, in groups, acquire knowledge in filmmaking.
"The festival aims to showcase some of the best national and international films and bring in filmmakers onto a single platform to present their stories, inspire and educate children and help bring out their creative skills.
"Children from different schools will be engaged in a 48-hour film challenge that will enable them to explore the art of filmmaking closely," Nivas said in a statement.
A team of writers and technicians from the FTII would personally lead the challenge while a jury would judge the films made by children.
