Congress candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat Amarinder Singh today accused Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia for trying to criminalise politics in the state.
Addressing public meetings in Nath Di Khui and Turpai villages in Majitha assembly segment, he warned Bikram, who is also a local MLA, against "crossing his limits," saying people would not tolerate criminalisation.
He alleged that Bikram was arm twisting, intimidating people and was indulged in land grabbing.
Amarinder said he will ensure that Bikram is brought to justice even if it takes him to move Supreme Court.
"Don't think, you (Bikram) are going to be here for always as your countdown has already started," he said.
The former chief minister said anger and resentment were prevailing against Bikram, not just in Amritsar, but also in his home constituency Majitha.
"The signs of revolt against him are already building up," he said.
