Amarinder, Bajwa, Manpreet file nomination papers

Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Punjab Congress head Partap Singh Bajwa, sitting MP Vijay Inder Singla were among 25 canodates who filed nominations for the April 30 Lok Sabha polls in the state.
So far 45 nominatiosn have been filed for 13 seats in the state.
From Jalandhar, Pawan Kumar Tinu (SAD-BJP) filed his papers, an election office spokesman said here.
Amarinder Singh (INC) filed nominations from Amritsar seat, Bajwa (INC) from Gurdaspur, Vijay Inder Singla (INC) from Sangrur, Manpreet Singh Badal as Congress candidate from Bathinda seat.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission filled some vacant posts to ensure smooth polling.
Adappa Karthik, IAS has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gurdaspur, V K Sharma, IAS as ADC Amritsar, Vinay Bublani as ADC Tarn Taran.

The filing of nomination will continue till April 9, scrutiny will take place the next day and withdrawal will take place till April April 12.
There are about 1.92 crore voters, including 90 lakh women. The state will have 21,957 polling stations, including 15,463 in rural areas.
Five constituencies of Gursdapur, Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur and Patiala have been classified as "expenditure sensitive" constituencies.
The other eight constituencies which will go to the polls are Khadoor Sahab, Jalandhar SC, Fatehgarh Sahab, Hoshiarpur SC, Anandpur Sahab, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Faridkot.
Of the 13 Lok Sabha seats, at present Congress has eight MPs, SAD four and its alliance partner BJP one.
