Dismissing the charges levelled against him by Narendra Modi over alleged foreign bank account in the name of wife or son, Congress leader Amarinder Singh today said "It is a classic case of pot calling kettle black".
The former Chief Minister, in a statement issued here said, "Imagine a man charged with mass murder of hundreds of innocent people never having the moral courage to speak about it, but resorting to myths and lies conceived and created by the dirty tricks department of his party."
The Patiala MLA said, "It is a classic case of pot calling kettle black," adding that, "This is not for the first time that they have raised it and I am sure this won't be the last time either."
Earlier today, Modi had targeted Singh for allegedly not divulging details of foreign bank accounts held under his wife and son's name in his affidavit and demanded reply from the party.
Singh mentioned that the very timing of these allegations exposes the motive behind these as the BJP has started fathoming the defeat in Amritsar.
Singh is pitted against Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley from Amritsar.
"I actually take it as an admission by the BJP of its defeat much ahead of the actual battle," he said, adding that, "Otherwise there is no point in raising this allegation which even they know has no basis".
