Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh is "habitual of misleading" people by making "false claims" and exhorted voters not to get swayed away by his propaganda.
During the Sangat Darshan programme of Khadoor Sahib Assembly segment here, he alleged that Captain has mislead people by issuing baseless and out of context statements which are in "striking contrast" with reality.
Countering Amarinder's repeated claim that Punjab's finances are in poor state and big industries are flying away even as small ones are on the verge of closure Badal said, "Captain's claim on industrial development and financial crunch were farce and far from reality," he said.
He claimed that ongoing development works coupled with pro-poor welfare schemes reflect the marvelous performance of SAD-BJP alliance but Captain is skeptical to all this.
He "welcomed" the Captain's reported statement that he would form a 'Mahagathjod' (Grand Alliance) of like-minded parties to counter the SAD-BJP alliance
"Such efforts would hardly yield any result," he said.
