Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today ridiculed Sukhbir Singh Badal over his drive to seek investments, saying the Deputy Chief Minister was only "getting himself photographed" with the so-called prospective investors while "actually getting nothing".
Amarinder asked Sukhbir to specifically spell out what sort of investment was coming to Punjab.
"Sukhbir's investment tourism merely begins and ends with photo-ops and press releases only. Leave aside getting investment from outside, our own industries are moving out of Punjab due to policy paralysis of this government," he said.
He asked Sukhbir to list out what industry or investment he has brought to the state during seven years of his rule.
Referring to the power plants being set up in Punjab, the former Chief Minister doubted whether these will benefit the state as they did not have any commitment.
"If they (companies) get a better price, they are free to sell it (power) to outside states," he said, wondering why the Punjab government provided thousands of acres of land to these companies after "forcibly acquiring it from unwilling and helpless farmers".

On procurement of farm produce, Amarinder said during his tenure as CM, there were problems of moisture but his government ensured timely procurement of produce and payment to farmers.
"They (state government) just can't pass on the blame to the Centre," he said.
Amarinder dismissed talks of differences within the Punjab Congress leadership, saying according to the role defined, his job was to ensure that the party wins all 13 seats from Punjab in the Lok Sabha elections.
