NPSU activists led by their provincial president Thakur Varinder Singh held a demonstration at Jammu University here in protest against Geelani's remarks which they termed as "highly sectarian, communal and anti-national utterances".
They also burnt an effigy of Geelani and demanded registration of criminal case against him for attempting to incite communal violence.
The Supreme Court order regarding upgradation of facilities for Amarnath pilgrims must be implemented in letter and spirit, Singh told reporters.
People of Kashmir has rendered great cooperation in the past for the smooth conduct of Amarnath pilgrimage but certain people were bent on polarising society on communal lines, he said.
Geelani on Thursday had threatened to launch an agitation after Eid against the Jammu and Kashmir government plans to construct a road to Amarnath shrine in south Kashmir.
