The district administration is making arrangements to feed stray cattle and dogs, facing starvation due to the coronavirus lockdown, officials said on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma held a meeting with district officers and social organisations on Sunday to discuss the issue.
He said stray animals will be given shelter in cowsheds being run by various religious organisations and municipal councils.
The district administration will make arrangements for their food during the 21-day lockdown which was announced on March 24.
The deputy commissioner said the administration will also provide financial assistance to cow sheds being run by private organisations.
