A statue of Ambedkar was damaged this morning by some unidentified men in Fatehpur Roshni village following which a case was registered, Deputy SP, Kanpur Dehat, Sanjeev Sinha said.
A decision to construct a new statue was taken in a meeting of villagers which was held after the incident, Sinha said.
Angry villagers gathered in Fatehpur after the incident, he said, adding that a new statue would be set up by the evening and investigations are underway to nab the culprits.
