The specialised vehicles, drawn from various hospitals in the national capital, will be located within 1 km radius area around the Red Fort.
Of the total pool, 16 ambulances, equipped with modern medical gadgetry, will be reserved for the exclusive use of VVIPS/VIPS.
60 ambulances, including seven Army ambulances, will be kept in case of mass casualty. 10 of these 60 ambulances will be on standby, parked in hospitals.
Six locations have been identified by the Health Ministry where clusters of ambulances (five-six) will be stationed. At 11 points, which have been identified as first aid posts, single ambulance will be stationed.
Special emergency, trauma and disaster wards have been created at Pant hospital, Lok Nayak hospital, Hindu Rao hospital and Guru Teg Bahadur hospital because of their proximity to Red Fort.
These hospitals have been asked to be on high alert by the Health Ministry as part of health facility arrangement by the Ministry.
