AMHSSC to train 1,000 Kashmiri Pandit women in Jammu

Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) today said it has signed an MoU with All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), an NGO, to train 1,000 women of families of Kashmiri pandits staying in Jammu camps.
"MoU envisages training and certification of 1,000 women of families of Kashmiri pandits staying in camps in Jammu under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)," the council said in a statement.
It was signed by M K Pajan, General Secretary of AIKS and Roopak Vasishtha, CEO, of the council.
Roopak said efforts would also be made to make clusters of such trained and certified women and connected to the industry.
"Those who wish to start their own business would be helped by arranging loans under the Pradhanmantri Mudra Yojna from various banks," he said.
AMHSSC has been formulated by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and NSDC to develop skills repository for apparel value chain, national occupational standards in the industry and improvise the training delivery value chain, including third party assessments and certifications.
