It was screened at a PVR cinema at Sat Pal Mittal road here and there will be two shows daily, said a PVR spokesman.
Earlier, local cinema owners had decided not to screen the movie which was released pan-India on September 18 as they apprehended law and order problem from radical sikh outfits.
It was released in rest of Punjab on September 25.
In run up to the release, the Sikh temporal head Akal Takht had said on September 24 that it had pardoned Gurmeet Singh, who is accused of hurting the sentiments of the community, after receiving his letter of apology.
Several Sikh organisations like All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF), Bhai Mohkam Singh's United Akali Dal and Dal Khalsa have, however, refused to accept the pardon decision.
