Amit Shah hails BJP's victory in Port Blair local elections
Press Trust of India New Delhi Hailing BJP's victory in Port Blair's local body elections, party chief Amit Shah today said its wins in a series of municipal polls underlined people's endorsement of the Modi government's development agenda and "rejection" of Congress' "negative" politics.
BJP has won 11 of the 24 seats in the elections to the island's local body and is set to replace Congress as the main ruling formation.
Noting the party's win in local polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Bengaluru earlier, Shah said, "This is a mandate against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi's anti-poor, anti-development and negative politics. People have shown their faith in the policies of the Modi government."
People have rejected Congress' disinformation campaign against the Centre and it was time for the main opposition party to introspect.
