BJP president Amit Shah today hailed the RSS and said several of those who had been associated with the Sangh have served the country selflessly.
Releasing books on five former chiefs of the RSS at a programme here, Shah said they had worked selflessly for the country all through their lives.
The books released were on K B Hedgewar, M.S. Golwalkar, Balasaheb Deoras, Rajendra Singh Rajju Bhaiya and K S Sudarshan.
"Such people lived for the society and took it as their duty, thereby setting a noble tradition ...all these five sarsangchalaks were so knowledgeable that even saints considered themselves small before them," Shah said.
"All these people did not live for themselves but for the organisation," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "had it not been for the RSS, we would not have known about our national song Vande Mataram.
