From the time the script was penned for 'Boss', the makers believed that no one other than Big B could do justice to introduce a strong and larger-than-life character portrayed by Akshay in the film.
When the script was sent to Bachchan, he loved the idea and immediately agreed to be a part of the movie.
"It is an honour and privilege to have a legend like Amitabh Bachchan to introduce my character in 'Boss'. I have been his biggest fan since childhood and have even had the pleasure of working with him. He is an institution by himself," Akshay said in a statement here.
"I have known Mr Bachchan for years now because of my journalism background. But more importantly, I have grown up on his films. The reason why I am in movies today is because of him. When I called him and requested him to be a part of 'Boss', he agreed. It's like a dream come true - to have a legend like him giving an introduction to the film," producer Ashwin Varde said.
